The Family’s Blend. Ramos is characterized by a symphony of flavors, described by one of our friends as “a Sunday afternoon drive”. This mystical blend will make you appreciate coffee to a new level. A masterfully crafted roast that balances a strong body and perfect balance, while maintaining the crisp acidity and citric notes that characterize Honduran coffees. Get ready for a journey.

  • Roast Level: Medium+

  • Process: Washed

  • Recommended water to coffee ratio (drip/pour over): 18:1. Add 18 grams of water for every 1 gram of ground coffee. Or 2 - 2.5 tablespoons of ground coffee for an 8oz cup of water.

  • Flavor Notes: chocolate, almond, and vanilla notes with a crisp aftertaste and fruity end-notes

  • Enjoyment Suggestions: We usually take it black to fully enjoy the notes and flavors. But some almond milk or half-and-half would also be a perfect match. We use this blend for Espresso drinks at Viva.

History:

It was Mother’s Day celebration at my house (Gerardo’s) and as usual, the Ramos family was about to start enjoying a cup of coffee after dinner. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I decided to brew a light coffee and Doña Nora (my mother) said: “Ay no! Esto no me gusta” (Oh no, I don’t like this!). I felt so disappointed but I took it as a challenge. I then asked her: How would you like your coffee? And she responded “I want something strong, but not too strong… and with flavor, something like when I used to have coffee at the farm”. And that was enough, I knew exactly what she wanted.

I then went back to the single origins and masterfully crafted a blend that would be bold, balanced, yet maintaining those original Honduran citric and floral notes. I made the blend, brewed it, and presented it to my mother. Her response was a dream come true: “Este es! Delicioso, gracias hijo” (This is the one! Delicious, thank you son).

Enjoy Ramos, a blend perfectly crafted with family love and passion.
